What is an Event? How can I create an event?

Event is simply a session or virtual class that the presenter can create and invite the attendees to join. In order to take a live session with attendees, the Presenter needs to create an event. After successful login, presenter is shown Events page where he/she can click on 'Schedule New Event' hyperlink to open the Event Wizard where user/presenter can input the Event name and PowerPointTM file (to be used in that particular event) and Event name.

Is it necessary to upload PowerPoint in order to create an event?

No, event can be created without uploading the PowerPointTM file. You just need to enter the Event Name on 'Schedule New Event' page. While trying to create an Event, authorLIVE keeps a track of the event and e-mails you the details of that event. The details include the Event Name, presenter's URL, attendee's URL and the URL for the recorded presentation (only after the session is over) on your e-mail address.

When I try to run an event it sometimes shows me that I am disconnected. Why is that?

One possible reason for this problem is that the name of PowerPointTM file that you have uploaded contains characters (&, Space) not recognized by system. Rename your PowerPointTM file without any special characters and spaces and create a new event to try again.

How can I invite attendees?

Once you create an event, you will receive the details of that event via e-mail. The details include the Event Name, presenter's URL, attendee's URL and the URL for the recorded presentation (available only after the session is over) on your e-mail address. To invite attendee's, simply forward the ATTENDEE URL by e-mail along with the time you want the session to start or on Event List page, click on the link marked Mail to send email messages to the attendess.

Can I share any application other than PowerPoint?

Since we do not have a desktop sharing facility in authorLIVE, you cannot share other applications.

Is there any limit to the number of attendees that I can invite?

No, for the time being there is no such limit.

What kind of documentation is available for me as a presenter?

On our training and support page, we have a Presenter's User Guide as a PDF document.

Can I give presentation control to an attendee?

Yes, as a presenter you can pass on the control to any attendee using authorLIVE transfer control feature.

When I use MAC machine, why am I not able to hear my audience properly?
